Delhi Daredevils were right on the money from ball one as they defeated Kings XI Punjab by 51 runs in 15th game of the Indian Premier League played at Delhi. Sam Billings was the man of the moment with the bat as Englishmen helped Delhi post a competitive total on the board. Corey Anderson produced an quick-fire 39 runs off 22 balls to see Delhi push their score beyond 180-run mark from full quota of overs.
Anderson also picked up the important wicket of David Miller to cap off his fantastic game for Delhi Daredevils. Left-arm orthodox spinner Shahbaz Nadeem led the way with the ball to dismiss Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha in the first five overs of the innings. Hashim Amla got outfoxed by his South Africa colleague Chris Morris to see Kings XI slump to 31 for 3 after 4.4 overs. Eoin Morgan played well for his 22 runs before being undone by fast bowler Pat Cummins who provided crucial breakthrough for Delhi. Glenn Maxwell went for a duck dismissed by leg-spinner Amit Mishra. Axar Patel fought hard till the end as lone warrior to score 44 runs off 29 balls but that was not enough as Kings XI conceded their second successive defeat in the competition.
Earlier, Sam Billings and Corey Anderson chipped with vital runs with the bat to see Delhi put up 188 runs on the board. With this win, Delhi are placed at third in the table with two wins out of three games played while Kings XI Punjab are now in the bottom half of the table.
