Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul splendid batting performances followed Deepak Chahar’s bowling heroics saw India register 30-run win in the third and final game of the T20I series on Sunday.
The day started with Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah winning the toss and opting to bowl first. Bangladesh struck early as Rohit Sharma perished in the second over of the innings.
But a 59-run partnership for the third-wicket between Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul stabilize the innings for India. Lokesh Rahul played well and perished in the 12th over of the innings. Shreyas Iyer anchored the whole innings and put crucial partnerships with Rishabh Pant to a competitive score of 174 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Shreyas Iyer finished the innings with the top score of 62 off 35 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes, whereas Lokesh Rahul scored 52 off 35 balls with the help of seven boundaries.. Manish Pandey produced a quick-fire cameo of 22 not out off 13 balls with the help of three fours.
For Bangladesh, Soumya Sarkar was the best bowler on show as he claimed figures of 2 for 29 in his four overs.

In reply, Bangladesh got off to worse possible start as Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar in the initial overs of the innings. Mohammad Mithun and Mohammad Naim led the fightback for Bangladesh with a 98-run partnership. When Mohammad Mithun, the side lost their momentum as Deepak Chahar ran through the lower-order to help India clinch T20I series.
Rookie pacer Deepak Chahar delivered career best performances in the T20 format to help India register a comfortable win in the series decider.
Mohammad Naim produced a valiant effort with the bat and finished as the top scorer for Bangladesh with 81 runs off 48 balls with the help of ten fours and two sixes, whereas Mohammad Mithun scored unbeaten 27 off 29 balls with the help of two fours and one six.
For India, pacer Deepak Chahar was the standout bowler on display and finished with figures of 6 for 7 in 3.2 overs. Shivam Dube also claimed three wickets in the game.
