Darren Sammy produced a match winning performance with the bat as he scored 59 run off 35 balls and struck five sixes in his innings to take his side to convincing win over St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 35 runs.St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and decided to field first.
St. Lucia Zouks lost an early wicket of opener Andre Fletcher in the first over of the innings. Shane Watson could not make any telling contribution as he was dismissed by 15 runs. Zouks at one age were 83 for 4 after 12 overs when Sammy took the charge to the bowlers. He hit a huge six off the bowling of leg spinner Samuel Badree and hit two fours of the bowling of Jonathan Carter. David Miller was dismissed for 11 by left arm medium Krishmar Santokie. Sammy scored a crucial half century to take the side to post 174 runs after 20 overs.
The chase for Patriots was not ideal one as Simmons and Lewis went early in the innings.JJ Smuts scored 30 runs off 18 balls but was undone by left arm Delom Johnson to leave Patriots three wickets down in the 8th over.St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots Captain Faf du Plessis did show some fight back with 48 runs off 37 balls but he was dismissed the side lost wickets at regular intervals to lose the game by 35 runs.
Seamer Delom Johnson was standout among all the bowlers for Zouks as he grabbed 3 wickets for 37 runs while Darren Sammy was named man of the match for his efforts with the bat.
