Colin Munro hammers 68 runs as Trinbago outclass Barbados by seven wickets

The 16th game of the Caribbean Premier League 2016 saw defending Champions Trinbago Knight Riders take on Barbados Tridents at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Trinbago came out on top in the game due to stellar performance put in by Colin Munro who scored 68 runs off 39 balls to help his side chase down a total of 172 runs put by Tridents.

Munro smashed six sixes in his innings and shared 107 run partnership with Hashim Amla who scored 31 runs off 24 balls.He duo took the side close to winning the game Knight Riders needed just 37 runs in 6 overs and completed the target in the 17th over with Dwayne Bravo and Dinesh Ramdin taking the side to win the game by 7 wickets.Munro departed as he was caught by de Villiers on the long on boundary off the bowling of medium pacer Ravi Rampaul.Bravo hit two fours and a six off the bowling of Wayne Parnell to close out the game for Trinbago Knight Riders.

Earlier in the day, Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and decided to field first. Steven Taylor went early after scoring 13 runs while Shoaib Malik scored 47 runs off 44 balls. Malik shared a 60 run partnership with AB de Villiers to build a platform for the side.AB de Villiers scored 45 runs off 32 balls and shared another 49 run partnership with Kieron Pollard. Tridents managed to score 33 runs in the last three overs. Kieron Pollard made a brisk 41 runs off 20 balls and struck three sixes in his innings to take the total to 172 runs after 20 overs.
