Pakistan newly appointed Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq will travel with the squad for the tour of England to monitor the performances of the players. The former player was initially proposed to be with the side for the full two months as instructed by Pakistan Cricket Board but plans have changed. The officials in PCB said that the chief selector will now go to England just before last test at the Oval followed by bilateral one day series and a single T20 game.
He will be in close discussion with other members of selection committee before selecting the squad for Pakistan for the Odi series and a single T20 game. Inzamam had plans to closely monitor players in England conditions so that he could be in better place to select the players for the one day series and T20 game. The new appointed chief selector has been involved with the all preparations made by the side for the tour of England. The Pakistan A side and women side are also touring England to play their matches in England.
The side did undergo a rigorous training in the Boot camp held at Kakul to improve fitness of players and to prepare them for the long tour of England that will be four months long.Inzamam is working in close collaboration with the Test Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Head Coach Mickey Arthur for the tour of England this summer.
