Captain Bravo leads the way with 4 wickets as Trinbago Knight Riders outclass St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots by eight wickets

The 29th game in the Caribbean Premier League saw mid card players and defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders take on the side at the bottom of standings, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.

Trinbago Knight Riders won the game due to splendid performance from a champion all-rounder Dwayne Bravo who took four wickets to setup a comprehensive win by eight wickets over St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The captain did strike early in his spell taking two wickets and ended up with figures of 4 for 13 in his four overs to restrict the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 137 in just 20 overs. Bravo removed the opener Evin Lewis and bowled a searing yorker to dismiss St. Kitts and Nevis Patriot Captain Faf du Plessis in the fourth over of the innings.He came at the end and took out the likes of Devon Thomas and Shamarh Brooks.

Kieron Powell made an aggressive start at the top for Patriots as he mad 23 runs off 17 with wide range of attacking shots. The fall of Powell meant that the side failed to build up momentum in the innings again. Sunil Narine bowled miserly spell conceding just 9 runs in 4 overs. While the mainstay for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots was Lendl Simmons who carried his bat throughout the innings and helped his side reach 137 runs. He scored unbeaten 60 runs off 40 balls and struck four massive sixes in his innings. The rest of batting lineup failed to deliver.

Hashim fell early in the run-chase but opener Perkins made 28 runs and put on a fifty run partnership with Dinesh Ramdin before he was dismissed in the eight over. Brendon McCullum performed with the bat in this game at last after a wretched run of form in the league as he struck unbeaten 43 runs off 28 balls. Dinesh Ramdin remained unbeaten and top scored with 52 runs to take his side to win the game by 8 wickets in the 17th over. The defending Champions Trinbago Knight Riders take on St. Lucia Zouks in a playoff in St. Kitts on 4th August.
