Darren Bravo and Brendon McCullum put on a scintillating display with the bat to see Trinbago chase down 86 runs from 6 overs after a rain intervention that the saw target get reduced. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots suffered their second defeat this season as the side did well to post 163 runs on the board from their 20 overs.
McCullum produced an unbeaten 54 run-stand with Bravo to see their side win the game by eight wickets. At one stage, Trinbago required 52 runs off 3 overs but Bravo unleashed a wide range of strokes to smash Samuel Badree for three sixes in an over. Mohammad Nabi also came under the hammer as he also leaked 23 runs from his only over of the innings. The visitors only required ten runs off the last over as Bravo smashed Jonathan Carter for two fours to see the side pull off an amazing win.
Earlier in the day, Chris Gayle provided sheer entertainment as he smashed eight sixes in his innings to score 93 runs off 47 balls. He played sensibly and laid an ideal platform for others to tee off at the end of the innings. He added 58 runs with Evin Lewis to get the side off to a good start.
Lewis showed aggression as he smashed Beaten for two fours and a six in the fourth over of the innings. Sunil Narine dislodged Lewis who departed after scoring 39 runs off 14 balls. Gayle went on the charge after the dismissal of Lewis as game got reduced to 18 overs apiece. The rain played a spoilsport as once again players left the field. But Gayle kept smashing the ball out of the park as Patriots posted 163 runs off 13 overs.
The game saw Trinbago extend their lead at the top of the table with 14 points while Patriots are still placed at second with 11 points to their name.
