Bowlers setup up comfortable win for England against India at Kanpur

Brilliant bowling performance from Eoin Morgan’s men set comfortable seven wicket victory over India in the first T20I of the three-match series at Green Park, Kanpur on Thursday.

After opting to field first, England bowling line-up led by all-rounder Moeen Ali, restricted the mighty Indian batting line-up at the score of just 147 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.Ali was the most successful bowler from the visitors, as he picked up two wickets and just gave away 21 runs in his four overs.For India, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni finished the innings with the top score of 36 off 27 balls with the help of three fours, whereas veteran Suresh Raina scored 34 off 23 balls, which included four fours and one six.England never looked in any sort of trouble and comfortably as they chased down a target of 148 runs with 11 balls to spare to take 1-0 lead in three T20 series.

Captain Morgan finished the innings with the top score of 51 off 38 balls which featured one four and four sixes, whereas Joe Root scored run-a-ball 46 not out with the help of four boundaries.For India, young leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed two, whereas off-spinner Parvez Rasool claimed one wicket.For his outstanding bowling performance, Ali was awarded man of the man.

The next match of the series will be played on Sunday in Kanpur, whereas the last match will be played on next Wednesday in Bangalore.
