Bangladesh win comfortably by 51 runs against UAE

The third match of the Asia Cup saw the hosts Bangladesh taken on the minnows UAE.While Bangladesh were outplayed by India in the opening game,UAE did show glimpses of competing with Lankan Tigers who had to work hard for their victory last night.

UAE Skipper Amjad Javed won the toss and decided to field first.Bangladesh got off to breezy start as openers Mohammad Mithun and Soumya Sarkar put on a opening partnership of 46 runs.

Bangladesh lost the plot after that  as they gave away three quick wickets to be placed at  83 for 4 after 12 overs.The UAE bowlers performed better in later stages of the innings as Bangladesh managed to score only  50 runs in the last eight overs.

The key contributions came from M0hammad Mithun who scored 47 runs and Mahmudullah who played a great cameo at the end with 36 runs to take hosts to a score of 133 runs after 20 overs.

UAE in pursuit of the target got off to a woeful start as opener Muhammad Kaleem was removed in the early overs by Al-Amin Hossain.The skipper Mashrafe Mortaza got the wicket of Rohan Mustafa who was dismissed for 18 runs.

He then dismissed premier batsman Shaiman Anwar in the next over caught at short third man where Mustafizur Rehman held on to a easy chance.

Muhammad Usman played a notable innings of 30 runs but the rest wilted under pressure as wickets fell at regular intervals as UAE got bundled out for a mere 82 runs giving hosts their first victory in Asia Cup.

The win was crucial for Bangladesh in order to go through towards the later stages of the competition.UAE once again were on the losing side due to alarming shortcomings seen in their batting
