Bangladesh keen to seal series against West Indies

Hosts Bangladesh will be looking to end their year with a series win over West Indies. On the other hand, the visitors have been on the road for almost three months and will aim for silverware at the end of the tour. The series is evenly poised at 1-1, with all to play for as Bangladesh take on West Indies in third and final T20I game of the series in Mirpur on Saturday.

Earlier, Bangladesh beat West Indies in the Test and ODI series. They will certainly be better placed to win this series as they have experienced players in their ranks. Liton Das top-scored for Bangladesh with 60 off 34 balls in the previous game played at the same venue.

Das smashed six fours and four sixes in his innings and put on a crucial partnership with Soumya Sarkar. Captain Shakib Al Hasan produced unbeaten 42 runs off 26 balls with the help of five fours and a six. He added 91 runs with Mahmudullah to see Bangladesh push their score beyond 200 runs. Mahmudullah scored a brisk 21-ball 43 runs with the help of seven boundaries.

The third and final game will be played at Shere Bangla Cricket Stadium, Mirpur on Saturday

West Indies will be hoping that opener Evin Lewis to come good in this game. The opener hasn’t done much in the first two games of the T20I series.  Lewis has not been in good form of late but will need to come up with something special for West Indies.

The side will be relying on their in-form batsman Shai Hope, who scored 36 runs off 19 balls in the previous game, played in Mirpur. All-rounder Rovman Powell found form with the ball and notched up a half-century in 34 balls.

In the bowling department, Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas will need to deliver crucial breakthroughs with the new-ball. Kemo Paul and Fabian Allen will need to pick up crucial wickets for the side in this final game of the T20I series.
