The last game of the series was played between West Indies and Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. It turned to be incredible game for Pakistan’s young batting maestro Babar Azam who scored third consecutive hundred on the trot to setup win over the West Indies. Pakistan did complete a 3-0 whitewash on the visitors in the one day series.
The hosts batted first as Azhar Ali notched a composed hundred alongside Babar Azam who also scored 117 runs to help the side reach 308 runs after 50 overs. The skipper was under pressure from all the quarters as he delivered at a crucial time for Pakistan to complete dominant performance against West Indies in the one day series. Sharjeel Khan once again provided a blazing start as he scored quick-fire 38 runs to provide momentum to the innings in the early stages. Azhar Ali was joined by Babar Azam at the crease as duo added 147 runs together to put their side in a great position.
West Indies got off to good start as Kraig Brathwaite and Evin Lewis played with a cautious approach. The side has struggled against spin and yet it showed again as Mohammad Nawaz with his left arm spin took three wickets. The spinners provided ultimate choke on the visitors as they got bundled out for 172 runs in 44th over to see Pakistan win the game by 136 runs.
Babar Azam achieved this incredible and also broke the record of South Africa’s Quinton de Kock 342 runs in a three match series.Azam joined the likes of Zaheer Abbas, Saeed Anwar and Herschelle Gibbs to have three consecutive centuries on a trot in one day internationals. The first have been below par on the whole tour but they will play their night game in order to prepare for day-night that is scheduled to be played on 13th October in Dubai.
