The second game of Asia Cup will see Pakistan take on Hong Kong at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 16th September (Sunday).
Hong Kong produced brilliant performance in the Asia Cup Qualifiers to qualify for Asia Cup 2018. They did surprise a lot of cricket pundits by beating UAE in the finals of Asia Cup Qualifiers.
The side will certainly face an uphill task when they face Pakistan in the second game of Asia Cup. Sarfaraz and co. will be keen to get off to a decent start against Hong Kong. The game is scheduled to start at 05: 00 PM on Sunday (16th September) at Dubai Cricket Stadium
Hong Kong Captain Anshuman Rath was leading run-scorer for the side in the competition. The 20-year old was consistent and chipped in with regular scores in the Asia Cup Qualifiers. He will be focused to make sure he gets a good score against Pakistan. Babar Hayat is another batsman, who played really well for Hong Kong in the recent Asia Cup Qualifiers.
On the bowling front, Aizaz Khan is a promising pace bowler who picked up five wickets to help Hong Kong beat UAE in the finals of Asia Cup Qualifiers. Ehsan Khan and Nadeem Ahmed proved to be a potent spin combination for Hong Kong in recent times.
On the other hand, Pakistan have notched up consecutive victories over Zimbabwe in the one-day series played in Zimbabwe. Pugnacious opener Fakhar Zaman has certainly provided stability to Pakistan’s top order since his debut in 2017. He became the first Pakistan player to score a double-century in limited-overs cricket. Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik have been consistently getting runs for Pakistan in one-day cricket. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will need to contribute with the bat as he has been suffering from a lean run in the one-day format.
Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali are premier pace options for Pakistan for this competition. Shadab Khan will certainly get help from low and slow pitches in UAE.
