Andre Russell will not to take part in the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan citing personal issues

Megastar Andre Russell has opted not to take part in the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan in UAE due to personal reasons. The world class all-rounder was the part of the West Indies side that won the WorldT20 in India earlier this year. West Indies Cricket Board did the confirm the decision that the Russell wont tour UAE to compete against Pakistan because of personal engagements. The pull out by Russell is a ray of opportunity for fast bowler Kesrick Williams who recently performed well in the Caribbean Premier League who has been named as a replacement for the all-rounder for the upcoming series against Pakistan. He has performed well for Jamaica Tallawahs who went on to win the Caribbean Premier League 2016.

The pacer took 17 wickets in the league and also was included for the West Indies A squad tour to Srilanka for the coming month. Chris Gayle and Lendl Simmons are also not available for the tour due to various reasons. Simmons pulled out due to medical conditions while Gayle omission is still not known.

On the other hand, Pakistan has called Umar Akmal into the side that last played for the side in ICC World T20 in India. He was dropped due to various instances of improper attitude and behavior and the management also felt that he should comeback with strong performances to earn his place in the side. Left arm pacer Rumman Raees is also included in the Pakistan squad and Saad Nasim also gets a nod after not playing for the side for almost one year. The game will be played between West Indies and Pakistan at Dubai on 23rd September.
