Parthiv Patel top scored with 34 runs for Mumbai Indians as medium pacer Dhawal Kulkarni bowled splendidly well for Gujarat Lions to dismiss the likes of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. The late surge was provided due to the partnership between Tim Southee and Mitchell McClenaghan who added 42 runs to take Mumbai Indians to a score of 143 runs after 20 overs.
The win puts Gujarat Lions at the top of the table while Mumbai Indians is the lurking in last four after losing their second game in the Indian Premier League out of three matches played thus far.
