The dead rubber game played  at Shere Bangla National Stadium,Mirpur between Pakistan and Sri Lanka showed glimpses of promise to be a close contest as Mohammad Amir bowled a searing inswinger that thudded into Dinesh Chandimal pads in the first over.

After that it felt pretty flat as Sri Lanka openers Tilkaratne Dilshan and Dinesh Chandimal scored freely and churned out runs like a dream on a placid wicket.

The opening duo put on a 110 run partnership that saw some orthodox shots with scintillating improvisation to move the score board at the rate of knots. The Lankan Tigers were placed for 100 runs after 13 overs.

Then Pakistani bowlers clawed the game back towards Pakistan by executing the end overs to a tee.Mohammad Irfan bowled economically and posed a lot of questions from the batsmen.

Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz did not give an inch in the five overs as Sri Lanka only managed to score 40 runs. The total for Pakistan was 151 runs after 20 overs.

Tilkaratne Dilshan was highest scorer of the innings with 75 runs unbeaten till the end while Dinesh Chandimal scored another fifty to cap off a good tournament in terms of personal form in the t20 format just before Worldt20 begins in India.

Mohammad Hafeez went early in the initial over again but Sharjeel khan scored a fast paced 31 runs to derail Lankan bowlers and shift the momentum towards his team’s way.
