In the match where Kings had to win or at least avoid crushing defeat to qualify for the next round, stand-in captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to field first. His decision proved a correct one as United, who went without in-form wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi, lost JP Duminy and Alex Hales at the score of 17 inside the first four overs.
