Leg-spinner Rashid Khan put in a splendid performance to help Afghanistan clinch T20 series against Bangladesh in the second game played at Dehradun. Khan picked up four wickets to restrict Bangladesh to a modest score of 134 runs. Afghanistan got off to steady as Mohammad Nabi and Samiulllah Shinwari produced crucial scores to see complete the chase in the 18th over of the innings.
Afghanistan were placed in a precarious position at 79 for 3 after 14th over. Mohammad Nabi produced a flurry of boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking. He smashed three fours and two sixes in his innings. Rashid Khan picked up three wickets in an over and at one stage was about to claim a hat-trick after dismissing Tamim Iqbal and Mosaddek Hossain on consecutive deliveries.
Tamim Iqbal anchored the innings for Bangladesh and scored 43 runs off 48 balls with the help of five boundaries. Mushfiqur Rahim got off to decent start and failed to kick on in his innings.
Abu Hider played well for Bangladesh and scored unbeaten 21 runs off 14 balls to help the side post a decent total on the board. Rashid Khan once again proved to be the key for Afghanistan as he once again picked up crucial wickets for the side. Mohammad Nabi also picked up two crucial wickets for Afghanistan. Rookie off-spinner Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman produced a tidy spell for Afghanistan and conceded just 15 runs from his four overs.
Samiullah Shinwari scored 49 runs off 41 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes. He added 36 runs with Mohammad Nabi to see Afghanistan clinch T20 series over Bangladesh. Nabi also produced a brisk 15 ball 31 runs. Mosaddek Hossain was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh with 2 for 21 from his three overs.
Asghar Stanikzai and co. will be confident of doing well in their inaugural Test against India that will begin from 14th June at Bengaluru.
