James Anderson doubtful for the first Test against Pakistan due to stress fracture

The big news coming from the England camp is that premier fast bowler James Anderson might sit out the first Test against Pakistan at Lords after suffering from stress fracture in his right shoulder. England could go into the first game without the services of their best bowler in the line-up. He is the highest wicket taker for England in Test Cricket. The 33 year old spearhead has been in splendid touch with the ball as he grabbed 21 wickets against Srilanka in three match test series. England won the series in a comprehensive manner by a margin of 2-0.He also went on to claim the top spot for ICC Test bowler for the first time in his career.

He is set to sit out for his county side Lancashire who play their game against Nottinghamshire to be played in early July as confirmed by sources within England and Wales Cricket Board. It will be a race against time for Anderson to get ready for first Tests against Pakistan at Lords. Meanwhile, England has reasons to cheer about as all-rounder Ben Stokes is recovering from his injury and might get back into action against Pakistan. England will face selection problem as Stokes was replaced by Woakes also put in splendid performances in tests against Srilanka.
