Colin Munro was the star with the bat as left-hander produced a brilliant knock to help Trinbago to go top of the standings in the league with three wins under their belt. Trinbago won the toss and decided to bowl first. Guyana’s opening duo of Martin Guptill and Chadwick produced fireworks in the initial overs of the innings to see race to 40 runs in just three overs. Dwayne Bravo quickly judged the situation and brought Shadab into the attack who delivered the goods with the first delivery to dismiss Guptill.
Sunil Narine dismissed Babar Azam immediately to see Guyana placed at 50 for 2 after 4.4 overs. Walton played well for his 36 runs but gave his wicket way as the visitors lost momentum in the game. Shadab ripped the heart out of the middle order as Guyana kept losing wickets at regular intervals to end up with a modest score on the board. Roshon Primus 23 runs helped the side put up a decent total on the board.
Shadab Khan has turned out to be quite a revelation for Trinbago Knight Riders in this edition of Caribbean Premier League. The leg-spinner continued his imperious run with the ball to take four wickets in the game to restrict Guyana Amazon Warriors for 156 runs off 20 overs.
Brendon McCullum was dismissed in the first over of the innings but it did not deter Colin Munro and Sunil Narine, who scored freely to add 79 runs in space of seven overs. Narine played well for his 23 runs before he was undone by short-pitch delivery to see Trinbago lose their second wicket.Munro continued his aggressive style of play while Darren Bravo struggled for form at the end other.
The left-handed New Zealander scored an unbeaten 70 runs off 47 balls and smashed five sixes in his innings to steer his side to victory in the penultimate over of the game. Dinesh Ramdin also played for his unbeaten 42 runs and added 56 runs with Munro to see Trinbago notch up their third win of the competition.
