The third game of the Pakistan Super League saw a faceoff between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at Dubai. Zalmi quickly recovered from their loss in their opening game to win this one comfortably after bowlers did the damage upfront to restrict Karachi King to a below apr score of 118 runs after 20 overs.
Eoin Morgan showed his class and temperament as he scored unbeaten 80 runs to see his side Peshawar Zalmi to a seven wicket win over Kings. He struck eight boundaries and three sixes and had to adjust to the conditions as Mohammad Amir bowled a probing spell for Karachi in the first set of five overs. Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal fell for low scores but Dawid Malan got 22 runs to see the side notch up their first win without any further hiccups.
Earlier in the game, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first as Kings started off woefully to lose top four for just 12 runs. Shoaib Malik scored 44 runs and Ravi Bopara also chipped with 33 runs to save the side of getting bundled out under 100 runs. Malik played well and helped his side register a score to make it a little tough for Peshawar.
Morgan was named man of the match as Peshawar Zalmi is off the mark in the league with their first win. Karachi Kings will have to raise their game to be in reckoning for the top prize in the second edition of the Pakistan Super league.
