Ben Dunk came to the fore for Adelaide Strikers as they managed to overcome Hobart Hurricanes in a game played at Adelaide Oval in the Big Bash League.Dunk produced an effortless performance with the bat to remain unbeaten at the end to see his side to win the game by five wickets. He scored 79 runs off 49 balls and struck eight boundaries. The batsman held the innings together for Strikers to defeat Hurricanes in a game played at Adelaide Oval.
The target of 162 runs was good one after Hobart Hurricanes batted first and were in deep trouble with five wickets with 30 runs from five overs. Beau Webster and Jonathan Wells produced a classic fight back as they put on 89 runs to see them post a total of 150 runs on the board. The Strikers bowled probing lengths at the start as Chris Jordan and Billy Stanlake were impressive upfront with the ball.
Webster played for his unbeaten 67 runs scored off 43 balls as he added 89 runs with Wells to bail their side out of trouble. Billy Stanlake continues to improve with every game he plays in the Big Bash League this season as he once again took big wickets of Kumar Sangakkara and Dan Christian to see his side take the ascendancy earlier in the game against Hurricanes.
Adelaide Strikers are still in mix for the semifinal stage of the competition as they must win their remaining fixtures to stay alive in the League. Hurricanes must quickly address their batting issue if they are to pose a threat to other sides in the Big Bash League.
