Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger star in Australia’s win over Sri Lanka at Adelaide

Australia finally managed to win the last game of the T20 series against Australia played at Adelaide by 41 runs.Sri Lanka failed to finish the tour with a win as the side faltered in their innings while chasing a competitive score of 188 runs posted by Australia.

Dilshan Munaweera led the charge for Sri Lanka as he scored 37 runs off 25 balls to give his side a flying start to their innings. Australia came back into the game as the visitors lost three quick wickets to slump to 76 for 4 after 10 overs with Tharanga and Gunaratne back in the hut. Munaweera was aggressive upfront as he smashed fast bowler Jhye Richardson to all parts of the ground. But the bowler came back well from the earlier onslaught to bag the key wicket of Kusal Mendis.

Asela Gunaratne could recreate his heroics from the second game as he was pinned leg before as Adam Zampa executed a perfect googly to dismiss the danger man for just 4 runs. He also took out another destructive player as Chamara Kapugedera fell for 7 to see Zampa claim his second wicket of the innings. Milinda Siriwardana came in late and scored 35 runs off 27 balls before Faulkner dismissed in the 16th over of the innings to end the hopes of visitors of clinching another win from the hands of Australia.Sri Lanka got bundled out for 146 runs as Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers for Australia who bagged three wickets and conceded just 25 runs from his 4 overs.

Earlier in the game, Australia batted first after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field first. Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger formed a rock solid opening stand of 79 runs to lay down a perfect platform for others to tee off in the second half of the innings. Aaron Finch led from the front with the bat as he scored 53 runs off 32 balls.He struck five boundaries and three  sixes in his innings and once again proved his worth in the format for Australia. Michael Klinger also timed his innings to perfection as he top scored for the side with 62 runs off 43 balls.He struck six boundaries and a six in his innings.Ben Dunk and Travis Head chipped in with good contributions to see Australia post 188 runs from 20 overs.

Sri lanka have clinched another series in the bag after their triumph in South Africa while Australia has plenty of positives coming out of this series with likes of Aaron Finch, Michael Klinger and Adam Zampa performing well for the side in all the series.
